Most visitors need a tourist visa, which can be obtained as an e-visa online or on arrival at the airport. The cost is typically $50 USD for a single-entry visa valid for 90 days. We recommend applying for the e-visa in advance (at least 2 weeks before travel) to avoid queues at the airport.

Yellow fever vaccination is required for entry and you must carry your certificate. We recommend consulting your travel doctor about Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Rabies, and malaria prophylaxis at least 6 weeks before travel. Anti-malaria tablets are strongly recommended for safari areas and Zanzibar.

The dry season (June–October) is ideal for game drives with excellent visibility and animals concentrated around water sources. For the Great Migration river crossings in the Serengeti, visit June–August. The calving season (January–March) in the southern Serengeti is spectacular with thousands of newborns. December–February is excellent for Ngorongoro Crater.

The Serengeti is a vast open plain (14,763 km²) famous for the Great Migration and big cat sightings — it offers a classic endless-horizon safari experience. Ngorongoro Crater is a collapsed volcanic caldera (20km wide) offering dense wildlife viewing in a compact area, including endangered black rhino. Most safaris combine both for the complete Tanzania experience.

Absolutely! A safari-and-beach combo is one of our most popular itineraries. After your safari, a short 1.5-hour flight takes you to Zanzibar for pristine white-sand beaches, spice tours, and Stone Town exploration. We recommend adding 3–4 days for a proper beach break. This is the perfect way to end an active safari.

Yes! Many travellers combine a Kilimanjaro climb with a Serengeti safari. The trek typically takes 5–9 days depending on the route. We recommend doing the climb first (when you're freshest) then rewarding yourself with a relaxing safari. Popular routes include Machame (6-7 days) and Lemosho (7-8 days). No technical climbing experience needed.

Park fees are included in all our tour prices — no surprise costs. For reference: Serengeti entrance fees are approximately $70–82 per person per day, Ngorongoro Crater fees are $70 per person plus a $295 vehicle fee, and Tarangire/Lake Manyara are around $53 per person per day. Our all-inclusive pricing covers everything.

The Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) is the local currency. US Dollars are widely accepted at hotels, lodges, and for larger purchases. Credit cards are accepted at major hotels and some lodges, but cash is preferred in smaller towns. ATMs are available in Arusha, Dar es Salaam, and Stone Town. Carry USD in small denominations for tips.

Tanzania is one of Africa's most stable countries and a top safari destination receiving over a million tourists annually. National parks and tourist areas are well-managed and secure. Our experienced guides ensure your safety throughout. Standard urban precautions apply in Dar es Salaam and Arusha.

Bring layered clothing in neutral colours, a warm jacket for early mornings and the Ngorongoro Crater rim (it can drop to 10°C), comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent with DEET, binoculars, and a camera. A dust-proof bag or cover is useful in the dry season. If including Zanzibar, add swimwear and modest clothing for Stone Town.

Swahili is the national language and English is widely spoken in tourism and business. Your safari guides will speak fluent English. In Zanzibar, Arabic influences are also present. Learning "Karibu" (welcome), "Habari" (how are you?), and "Hakuna Matata" (no worries) will earn smiles from locals.

Safari drives between northern circuit parks (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara) are included in our packages using 4x4 safari vehicles. Domestic flights are available between major parks — Arusha to Serengeti takes about 90 minutes by air vs a full day's drive. We can arrange scenic flight-safari combos.
