Nairobi to the Maasai Mara
Fly into Kenya’s most famous safari landscape
Nairobi (Wilson Airport) → Maasai Mara airstrip by scheduled light aircraft, followed by a short transfer into the reserve or conservancy.
Approx. 45-minute scheduled flight, plus a short airstrip transfer
Your safari begins with a light-aircraft flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to the Maasai Mara. As the city gives way to the Rift Valley and open savannah, the journey itself becomes part of the experience. On arrival, your lodge or camp team will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you into the reserve or surrounding conservancy.
After settling in, head out on your first afternoon game drive with your private safari guide. The Mara is renowned for big cats and expansive plains. Depending on the season and conditions, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, topi, gazelles and a wide variety of birdlife.
Return to camp for sundowners and dinner as the last light fades across the plains.
