Half-Day Nairobi National Park Tour
A same-day Kenya excursion designed to show a clear entry price, optional private upgrades, and enough context for clients to compare city experiences quickly.

Nairobi National Park covers about 117 square kilometres of open grassland, acacia woodland and river forest directly south of the capital, and it is the only national park in the world inside a capital city. Gazetted in 1946, it was the first national park established in Kenya, and its northern boundary is close enough to the centre that giraffe are regularly photographed against the city skyline.
The park is among the most reliable places in the country to see black and white rhino, and it also holds lion, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland, hippo and around 400 recorded bird species. Leopard are present but rarely seen. The southern boundary is unfenced, which leaves the traditional wildlife corridor towards the Athi-Kapiti plains open for seasonal movement.
Its value is as much practical as ecological: a genuine game drive fits into a morning or an afternoon, which makes it the obvious choice for a layover, a free half-day on a business trip, or a first taste of safari before heading to the larger parks. The Ivory Burning Site monument inside the park marks the 12 tonnes of ivory burned in 1989.

The spot where Kenya burned 12 tonnes of confiscated ivory in 1989, a decision that reshaped global attitudes to the ivory trade. The monument is a short stop on most game-drive routes.

A Kenya Wildlife Service facility at the main gate caring for orphaned and injured animals, open separately from the game drive and popular with families.

A stretch of the Mbagathi River where visitors may leave the vehicle and walk a short guided trail, with hippo and crocodile in the water and good riverine birdlife.

July to October and January to February for the driest conditions, though the park rewards visits year-round given its proximity to the city.
