June-September and December-February are the dry seasons, ideal for gorilla trekking (drier trails) and safari. However, Uganda can be visited year-round.
Getting There
Entebbe International Airport (EBB) is the main gateway, located on the shores of Lake Victoria. From Entebbe, it's a scenic drive to Bwindi (8-10 hours) or a charter flight (1 hour).
Gorilla Permits
At $800 per person, permits are limited and should be booked months in advance for peak season. All our packages include the permit.
Health
Yellow fever vaccination may be required. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended. Tap water should not be consumed.
Currency
Ugandan Shilling (UGX). US dollars are widely accepted for tourism services.
Uganda offers incredible value compared to Rwanda for gorilla trekking, with smaller tourist numbers and equally intimate encounters.
