Kenya • Luxury Tented Camp
Premium eco-lodge in Amboseli with unobstructed views of Mount Kilimanjaro and 100% solar power. Set on a private conservancy bordering the national park.
Our Narrative
Tortilis Camp is named after the flat-topped Acacia tortilis umbrella thorn tree and embraces a hill within one of Amboseli’s pockets of acacia woodland. Located in a private conservancy bordering the national park, game drives, walks, sundowners and bush meals take place both inside the national park and across the conservancy where guests enjoy exclusivity.
The tents are spacious with king or twin beds and elegant en-suite bathrooms. There is a main lounge, bar and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural materials and thatched roofs. The Private House and Family Tent are located slightly separate from the main camp, sharing a pool on the hilltop.

Signature Experiences
Walking safaris led by Maasai guides invite guests to learn first-hand about Maasai culture and the small details of the bush — tracking, plants and birds — that are easy to miss from a vehicle.
Bush meals, sundowners on the conservancy and night drives (where permitted in the conservancy) round out the daily rhythm, with the family tent and private house catering to multi-generational travel.
Conservation & Community
Tortilis Camp employs around 60% of its staff from the local Maasai community, training many from scratch into professional guides, bartenders and waitstaff. With each employed person supporting an average of eight dependants, roughly 300–400 community members are sustained through these wages.
The camp operates on 100% solar power and reinvests in community programmes such as schooling sponsorships and conservation outreach.
