Amboseli National Park is world-renowned for its immense herds of free-ranging elephants, providing some of the most intimate and celebrated elephant encounters in Africa. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro—the highest free-standing mountain in the world—Amboseli is a photographer’s paradise.
Despite being one of Kenya’s smaller parks, its diverse landscapes range from a dried-up Pleistocene lake bed to lush wetlands fueled by the underground snowmelt of Kilimanjaro. These swamps act as a magnet for wildlife during the dry season, supporting lions, cheetahs, buffalos, and over 400 species of birds.
The open terrain allows for excellent visibility, and the combination of dramatic dust devils, wandering giant tuskers, and the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro creates an unmistakably classic safari atmosphere.
June to October (dry season) is best for game viewing; clear days for Kilimanjaro views are best early morning.

World-famous for intimate sightings of massive elephant herds containing some of the continent's largest remaining tuskers.
