Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore Entebbe Botanical Gardens, visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, or enjoy a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria. Overnight stay in Entebbe.

Day 2: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Rhino Tracking

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (~3 hours), home to Uganda’s only wild rhinos. Here, you’ll embark on a guided walking safari to track rhinos in their natural habitat. After the experience, you’ll relax at the lodge or take an optional canoe ride in search of rare shoebill storks. Dinner and overnight stay near Ziwa.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Game Drive & Boat Safari

Early morning, you’ll head to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most iconic park. You’ll enjoy a game drive across the savannah, spotting lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and antelopes. In the afternoon, take a boat safari on the Nile River, getting close to hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. The cruise ends at the base of the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a 7-meter-wide gorge. Afterward, you may hike to the top of the falls for breathtaking views. Dinner and overnight in the park.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic 7-8 hour drive to Kibale Forest National Park, famous for its 13 primate species, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and L’Hoest’s monkeys. Along the way, you’ll pass through tea plantations and rolling hills. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge and relax, preparing for the next day’s adventure. Dinner and overnight stay near Kibale.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your chimpanzee
trekking experience. Trekking through the lush rainforest, you’ll have the chance to observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as well as spot other primates and bird species. After the trek, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch before visiting the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, known for its biodiversity, birdlife, and local community projects. Dinner and overnight in Kibale.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP), Uganda’s most diverse park, home to elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and numerous antelope species. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge before heading out for an afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, a hotspot for predators. Dinner and overnight in QENP.

Day 7: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Start your day with an early morning game drive, increasing your chances of spotting lions and leopards. After breakfast, relax at your lodge before heading for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. Here, you’ll see large numbers of hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds, along with elephants and buffaloes coming to drink. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha (Tree-Climbing Lions)

After breakfast, you’ll drive toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the Ishasha sector of QENP, famous for its tree-climbing lions. If lucky, you’ll spot them resting on fig tree branches. After a picnic lunch, continue to Bwindi, home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a gorilla trekking adventure. Trekking through the dense rainforest can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, but the experience of spending one hour with a gorilla family is truly unforgettable. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax. In the afternoon, you may opt for a Batwa cultural experience or a nature walk. Dinner and overnight in Bwindi.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park & Optional Activities

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Lake Mburo National Park (~5-6 hours), Uganda’s smallest savannah park but rich in zebras, elands, impalas, and giraffes. Upon arrival, you can enjoy an afternoon game drive to spot wildlife. Optional activities include horseback riding among the wildlife or cycling through the park for a unique perspective of the landscape and its residents, including zebras, antelopes, and buffaloes. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing boat safari on Lake Mburo or a nature walk to explore the ecosystem up close. Dinner and overnight stay in Lake Mburo

Day 11: Departure via Entebbe

After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a relaxing morning at the lodge before driving back to Entebbe (~4-5 hours). If time allows before your international flight, you can visit the Entebbe Craft Market, the Uganda Reptile Village, or relax by Lake Victoria. Your guide will then transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your incredible Uganda safari adventure.

Accommodation in 4* hotels/lodges as follows; 1 night in Arusha, 1 night in Ziwa, 1 night in Murchison, 2 nights in Kibale, 2 nights in Queen Elizabeth, 2 nights in Bwindi and 1 night in Lake Mburo on double sharing. Double Bed room, Twin sharing (2 separate beds) and single room available.
